Abstract

This research explores dialects at the semantic level, focusing on synonymy and antonymy in Umdat Al-Huffadh by Al-Samin Al-Halabi. Using an analytical and descriptive approach, it examines the views of interpreters and linguists on terms cited by Al-Halabi. The study identifies the origins and attributions of these terms, some of which lack clear sources. It is divided into two main sections: one covers definitions of dialects, Al-Halabi's biography, and an overview of the book, while the second analyzes dialects through synonymy and antonymy. The conclusion summarizes the findings.
