Abstract

This study emphasizes the importance of semantics in understanding the Quran, highlighting that the Quran's precise system is not fully discovered. The research shows that the meaning of "asaf" (regret) varies: in Surah Al-A'raf, it signifies intense anger from sorrow; in Surah Al-Kahf, it refers to deep sadness; in the story of Joseph, it means distress; and in Surah Az-Zukhruf, it denotes anger. The study underscores the role of scientific advancements in interpreting Quranic meanings.
