The Evolution of Figurative Imagery in An-cient Arabic Poetry: A Study of the Poems of Single-Poem Poets
Abstract
Metaphor is a key rhetorical device in literature, reflecting the poet’s culture and expressive abilities. The study examines metaphors in the poetry of "Ahl al-Wahidah" and traces their development across literary periods, from the pre-Islamic to the Andalusian era. It covers sent and intellectual metaphors, with linguistic and rhetorical analysis of poetic examples.
