SELECTED EXAMPLES OF LINGUISTIC DISAGREEMENT IN THE BOOK "AL-KAFI FI SHARH AL-HADI" BY AL-ZANJANI (DIED 655 AH)
Abstract
Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon the Prophet Muhammad, the last of the prophets. In this study, the researchers have examined selected examples of linguistic disagreement in the book "Al-Kafi fi Sharh Al-Hadi." They have identified the linguistic contentious issues in this book and conducted a detailed study based on the following: Firstly, presenting the statements of linguists and their opinions from the historical linguistic references, starting from Sibawayh's book and ending with contemporary scholars, while examining the old and modern opinions on the matter. Secondly, attributing the various linguistic opinions to their proponents based on their writings, while also pointing out the oversight of some late scholars in attributing opinions to their proponents. Thirdly, discussing the opinions scientifically, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses based on the statements of our early scholars. Fourthly, the researchers’ desire - to the best of her ability - to express their opinion on the discussed topics in a scholarly manner. The research plan is structured into three sections, preceded by an introduction and followed by a conclusion where they summarize the results. The research sections cover the following: Section One: Linguistic disagreement in the subject of "Mubtada' and Khabar" with two issues. Section Two: Linguistic disagreement in the subject of "Fa'il" with two issues. Section Three: Linguistic disagreement in the subject of "Tanazul" with one issue.
